    Nearby Attractions

The Faro marina is a nice spot to visit and is within walking distance to the hotel. You can watch the small boats as they move their way around in the marina. The Carmo church was built in the 18th century. The façade and twin bell towers are imposing features. Inside the church is a riot of Brazilian gold leaf. The church contains important religious statues, including the nine statues of the Triumphal Procession. The Chapel of Bones, built in 1816, is a bizarre sight, with its walls lined with the skulls and bones from the friar’s cemetery: a grim reminder of the mortality of life.
