Faro Airport
Faro airport is located 2.6 km west of Faro in Portugal. The airport remains very busy during the summer months when holiday makers from all over the world descend on Faro. The airport is capable of handling 8 million passengers a year. The airport is easily accessible from the A22 toll free highway. When driving from Faro take route EN125; the airport is clearly signposted.
Information Desk:

Terminal Facilities:
There is just one terminal building at the airport that serves both; arriving and departing passengers. There are several banks in the arrival and departure areas and concourses and there are also ATMs located nearby. There is a bureau de change located in the arrivals concourse. There are 60 check in counters for departing passengers.
There is a post office, telephone booths and internet points located throughout the airport. There is a tourist information counter and a police office in the terminal. There are several bars, and restaurants at the arrival and departure areas of the airport. There are also a number of duty free and tax free shops that sell a variety of items which include alcohol, perfumes and Portuguese goods.
As both the arrival and departure halls are located on the ground floor of the terminal, you can easily walk from one to the other. There are a number of coffee shops between them and there is an outdoor coffee shop and viewing terrace.
There is a lost property facility located close to the arrival area. There is also a baggage wrapping service and left luggage facilities available. There is also a pharmacy at the airport.
There is a conference room with audio, video facilities that can accommodate 65 persons. However you need to contact the airport manager to book the conference room.
There are wheelchairs at the airport for disabled passengers. However it's advisable to inform the airline if you need a wheelchair at the airport.
Getting to and From the Airport:
If you don’t fancy taking public transport, you can hire a private car or shuttle to take you to your destination. For people travelling in groups the private shuttle service is a good option.
There are no trains that operate to the airport; however you can take a taxi or the airport transfer shuttle to get to Faro railway station.
There is an airport shuttle service that operates to and from Faro to the airport. The shuttle service stops at the main resorts in Faro.
The taxi stand is located directly opposite the arrival area of the airport. From here you can hire a taxi to take you to your destination. You should check the taxi fare board so that you know how much you will need to pay. You can get taxis from Faro to take you to the airport.
Car Parking:
There are two car parking areas at the airport. One is for short-term parking and the other for long-term parking.
